Overview
Product managers who wish to examine user behavior in specific environments can consider remote usability testing.
During the test, the examiner and test subject are separated. The user undergoes tests with tasks to be completed. The moderator observes them in their natural via screen-sharing software (like UXCam or UserZoom).
The test itself should last 15-30 minutes, with desired outcomes defined beforehand.
Sometimes, the test must be destination-based, depending on your type of product. At other times, the test itself may not be through a digital device.
Good product managers identify scenarios in which a moderated test is more advantageous than an unmoderated one.
